Hi,

I have 2 boxes on my home lan.... One with XP pro, and
one with ME.... I want to share the printer that is
connected to the XP machine with the ME machine.... My
network consists of: Wireless router with the 2 boxes on
it.... The XP machine can "see" the shares on the ME
machine, but the ME machine cannot see the shares on the
XP... On the ME machine, I can "see" the XP's machine
name, but nothing further!!!!
EX: workgroup

XP Pro ME

(nothing) C Drive shows

any help is appreciated.....

Well, I figured it out.... Control Panel>Admin
Tools>Local Sec Pol> Local Policies>User Rights
Managements> Access this computer from the network.

I had to add the network to the settings..... Hope this
is the right way.... but it works for the printer and
shared drives now......

Daryl,

When you startup the ME computer, do you login with an account /
password identical to an account setup on the WinXP computer?

Cheers,

Daryl,

Well, in order for you to share resources on WinXP, you have to have
an account/password mirrored on the XP resource (where the share is)
and the client. And the client has to be logged on with that
account/password.
