Hi,
I've noticed that text can be anchored to those
strange little signs on the front page template that
look like an "musical sign" or an inverted L like "J" sort
of. My questions is sometimes these little signs where you
can place text are not in the right place. So How can I
Insert one in the right place, or move one into the right
place. It would be great if I can drag it to an exact position.
Is it possible without creating a whole new cell. Thankyou,
su

"the template" ? *which* template are you talking about?

Not sure what you mean, can you please provide an example?

If by "musical symbol" you mean the new paragraph symbol (see link below),
http://www.murraywebs.com/images/sample_view_tags.jpg) it is just a
non-printable symbol and cannot be changed or altered.

These are shown by pressing Ctrl (control key) and / (forward-slash key)
"Reveal Tags" in FP2003 together, and no doubt other versions of Frontapge,
or from the View Menu, select "Reveal Tags".

They are representative of the HTML in code view.

Yes Murray, the "new paragraph" symbole, that's what I am talking about,
how do I insert one where I want it. In just the right place. I've tried
dragging
one but sometimes it just doesn't stick in the right place that you want it.
Is there a way to put it in exactly the right place that you need it? thanks

Design your layout with tables; to insert a paragraph type <p> in the HTML
view or in the design view, hit the Enter/Return key.

You can't "drag" the paragraph tags to where you want them. Place the
insertion point (the flashing cursor thing) where you want, and press
"Enter".

Other than that, I don't know what you're trying to accomplish.

That symbol (¶) is actually called the "Pilcrow sign", and as has been
mentioned, represents the end of a paragraph (</p> in HTML).

You could of course insert one anywhere in your text by typing ALT-0182
(using the numeric keypad), but I doubt that's what you really want.
