"anchoring" some documents in "recent documents"

Is there a way to anchor, or permanently include, certain documents in the
"recent documents" list? I find there are a few that I use regularly, but
when I go for them, they have been bumped!
Also, how to increase the number of documents listed there.

I don't know of a way to make entries in "Recent Documents"
permanent.

Instead of relying on the Recent Documents folder to maintain a
list of files I access on a regular basis I use the Favorites
folder. I created a sub-folder named Most Used Files within the
Favorites folder. I then place shortcuts to the files, folders
or documents I access frequently in the Most Used Files folder.
