Looking for freeware that would record from cassette/LP's to cd.
I read something here before. Having problems with EZCD...
Thanks in Advance.
Hi, I went through the same process recently.
I used a program called HardDiskOgg. It will record to wave, Ogg or mp3
(with the LAME codec). It has a handy feature that will start a new
incremented file with a mouse click.
If you are recording from an LP make sure you are recording via a phono
amplifier or an RIAA preamp as LPs are compressed, so they take up less
space on the LP. If you dont use one of these they sound very high
piched and you will pick up a lot of line noise.
I started using Harddiskoggg to split tracks them into individual files
as they were recorded, but you needed to catch the breaks, sometimes
they were not obvious. Iended up recording a whole side and then used
Audacity to cut them separate files afterwards. You can edit the file
before saving as well.
If you are recording from tape, dont use the phono preamp. You could
probably go straight into the line in of your sound card.
