Video capture from analog sources (camcorder, VCR) appears grainy and 'jerky'
on occasions. Are there some settings that could be changed to improve this?
Are there aother software programs that are better than Movie Maker for
converting VHS formatted videos to DVD?

A VHS recorded video at an extremely low quality... even in SP. If it was
recorded in LP/EP, it gets even worse. As the old saying goes, garbage in,
garbage out. You can't increase the resolution. It's always going to look
fairly bad.

Jerkyness is usually caused by the CPU being too low in speed and/or not
enough RAM and/or too many other applications running at the time of
capture. WMM isn't really designed for analog capture either. I usually
use Cyberlink's PowerDirector (www.gocyberlink.com) which hasn't failed me
yet.
