An unsual startup delay

We spent 7 minutes to open an excel archive with a dynamic table. The same
file can be open from another machine (with lower resources than this one) in
less than 1 min. In this equipment, we can open any other file (NOt
containing dynamic tables) in less than 1 minute.

Then we detected that excel has an strage performance in this equipment,
when we try to open files that contain dynamic tables. Despiting the size of
this file, many of then are lower than 1 MB, we can´t know how to fix this
delay to open the files. Does anybody help us?

We have Excel XP - SP3 - running over a WIN XP PRO SP2 machine.(Pentium 4
3GHz 512RAM). Additionaly, MCAffe Security Center is present an updated.

7 minutes sounds excessive, but I suspect all that new software is taking
longer with all the security updates to scan the file and check it's ok.
This will become more prevalent as time goes on. I have a 64mb file that
often takes a few minutes to load with 'waiting for virus scan...' on the
status bar for most of that
