I have searched for months (since 3/21/07) for method to delete files where
the above message appears. Finally, Start, Search, Advanced-check box,
"include non-indexed, hidden & system files". In name field type
WindowsMail.MSMessageStores. Click Search button. Two copies here should be
deleted (with rt. click) and Win Mail reopened. I searched all of community
trying to find the marvelous person who helped me get rid of this bother!

Thank you, but I have decided the Windows Mail is not for me - after more
trouble than I want to handle.

I followed your instructions with out luck! I have Window's
Vista...........any suggestions?

I had the problem of being unable to permanently delete a list of senders
(whose messages could not be displayed) from my Deleted Items folder because
'an unknown error had occurred'. In desparation I tried - Open Windows
Mail>Open Deleted Items Folder (with its list of 'Stuck message
senders'>Highlight each one in turn>Click on Edit>Empty Deleted Items
Folder> Respond with a 'Yes I wish to delete permanently - and, one by one,
they disappeared. Just hoping the 'Ghosts' don't reappear. Good luck - From
Bern.
