Hello,

I have a question concerning my old ATI Xpert 2000 graphics card
(AGPx1/AGPx2, chipset Rage 128). I'm thinking of upgrading my hardware
(motherboard, CPU, RAM and graphics card), however, buying that in one go is
quite a financial challenge in my current financial situation. So my
question is: can I buy a new motherboard (most probably Asus ASUS A7N8X-X or
DELUXE) a new Athlon XP processor and RAM and leave my old graphics card for
a while until I collect the money to buy something new? I'm not that much
into graphics or games, so I if it works, I can bear with my old ATI for
some time. But will such a combination work at all?

Thanks in advance,

The Rage 128 Pro will work, as it's a 4X/AGP2 card, but the older
non-Pro will not, won't even physically fit in the AGP slot due to the
notch being in the wrong place, towards the back of the motherboard,
port-side, rather than the front.

Most new motherboards want a AGP 4x or 8x card. Your old card probably
won't work. Budget in a new video card.
