An embarassment of styles

Here's a plug for Scansoft PDF Converter, which does a fine job of bringing letters into
Word. BUT. . . the new document has a style for every sentence, almost. So, after changing
all the styles how can I eliminate all the unused ones en masse? Better, how can I make
Word stop making new styles?

I would open a second new Word Document, copy all of the converted document
to the clipboard, switch to the new blank Word document and then choose
Paste Special from the Edit drop down menu and paste.

Clear thinking, Chuck. A rare commodity.

Thanks,
