In trying to figure out why the floopy drive will not work. I found the following in Help and Support in Windows XP. I typed "Administrator access to floppy drive". In a chart for NTFS, FAT, and FAT32 it said under NTFS, "cannot be used on floppy disc". Can some please tell me what this means? Could it be the reason my plug and play floppy drive isn't compatable with Windows XP? Thanks, hgnsvns

Are you trying to install this floppy drive from work

Most plug-and-play devices require administrative privileges the first time you use them with the system. You can unplug it whenever you want after it obtains information about the drive. To install your floppy drive you'll need to obtain administrative privileges.

Work? Not quite sure what you mean. I am trying from Win XP Home and it is from an OEM CD, it's my personal computer.

I am the administrator and the only one using the computer. So, how do I go about obtaining administrative privileges? Thanks very much for your help. hgsnvns
