Americas Army Online - Great FPS

If you have a good internat connection, a decent PC and are up for a good time i recommend Americas Army Online.

Its a pretty realistic online FPS. The guns are the authentic models of which they use in real life.

Whats more about this game is that its 100% FREE!! all you need to do is download it from here:
http://www.americasarmy.com/downloads/ (yes it really is that big).

Once you download it, you register a character online (name password) and do some training. Once thats over you can run riot across 1000's of servers.

Also you might want to download this aswell: http://aaotracker.4players.de/ (it keeps track of your kills and deaths!)

I may very well give this a go, I'm currently addicted to Call Of Duty online, would be good to have a change.

Overnight download, methinks, should take about three hours.

Apperently the American military funded over £7million pound to make this game!

Now Ubisoft are in partnership aswell and we could be seeing a single player version blasting its way to the gaming shop shelves in the near future.

The topic here techy is about the awesome game America's Army. I do not particularly care for your political opinions on the United States military training bank account! Keep your snide remarks to yourself!
Oh, and by the way, I do agree it is a great game. I'll be looking for techy someday soon, hopefully through my crossshairs.

Not off on the best of footings here, are we? Your first post and you're accusing somebody of making snide remarks.

imo it wasn't a snide remark, just a light hearted, albeit cynical, reply.

I don't agree with the remark either, FWIW, but I have the good grace to allow freedom of expression here when it isn't overly offensive.

And apart from that, we know techy a little, we don't know one goddamn thing about you yet except for your first post.

So tone it down.

Oh boy, wee. That was fun. I don't care what you think of military training, I just have fun from time to time trying to get people a little upset. You do your thing, I'll do mine. As for the idle death threat, I was hoping to see you in an America's Army game someday! So I could shoot you!. In a game. For the fun of it. That's what it's all about! Wee

LOL... suck it up RdizJ9AWe4lawPVB+rBh. We spend far too much on our military as it is, to the tune of nearly half a trillion dollars. So quit whining.

As for Americas Army... It is a great game. I've been addicted to it for quite some time now. Still havn't got through that Special Forces e & e training yet, though. Damn near spent 10 hours trying already. Things a pain in the arse(as the limeys would say :D)

Anyway, I highly recommend it. And the best thing is, its free.
 
Sounds like a great game. I wouldn't play it though, I have moral disagreements to the propaganda aspect.
 
top class game - well worth dowmloading it - it free

been playing it last 3 weeks - norrmally on map S F SCAR

Justin1 - the trainin that ur stuck on m8 - i to was stuck there !

(it tells u to stay off the hills) - but the only way to do it is croosin 1 of the hills
At he start u can go two ways - either straight (take u to the watch tower) or right (takes u to a camp)
Go right and when u get near the camp - stay into the left and when ur almost inline with the base ( go over the hill there !)

as for the real army spendin more on real trianin - they can't - due to needin more to sign up !

so they made this game to try to promote the army way of life - onfo on there web site

Game looks great.... I love the FPS games...

Im at the moment only on a dial up connection which i fear would make it sluggish
Plus my hardware is now getting a little dated

This is one i will definately download after my intended upgrade/overhaul.. (Whenever that may be)

You know how i get down ;).

If your on dial up its definatly not for you, i've been on with dial up before and its completely unplayable.
 
I did download this and install it all that time ago (see posts at start of this thread), went through the shooting gallery thing, then an option came up, something like 'Do you want to add this result to your profile?' or something like that.

I looked and looked and couldn't decide how the hell you were supposed to save it. I tried various keys, and each one I tried just put me back to square one. After trying that first shooting gallery about ten times, I just gave up, haven't gone back since.

Maybe I just stoopid, but it really poxed me off. If anybody can tell me how to do this thing, I'd love to give it a go, it looks good and I'm getting a little tired of CoD right now, I could do with a change.
 
Well you have to create a unique profile on the Americas Amry Online website. Once you've done that, you then do the training, at the end of the training it will bring you to a log in screen, you log in and it will upload your training completion.

Wonderif any1 out there can help. i have downloaded americas army 2.5 and downloaded the 2.5 patch , i have passed all the basic training , and now trying to play online , i get into the server , the puckbuster does its thing , im actually watching people play , as soon as the puck buster finnishes my pc freezes .... ive deleted and re-installed . can anyone help cause this is really -------- me off .

Sounds like you need to update PB from the exe program they have when you install AA. Go where ever you have AA installed, go to the folder called "System" then "PB" the double click pb web and wait till its done. You will know when its done because it will say press esc to exit. Once you've done that, try and join a server and see what happens. Lately AA has has problems with the authentication in servers, which makes you just sit and wait for a while. They should sort this out within a week. It happens every now and then though, just gotta be patient. When your joining a server and are on the screen of just watching a certain part of the map and your still not joined properly, press tab and type disconnect, it will take you out the server so you can try a different one if you want.
 
reefsmoka i have updated the pb from the file . it was a box that looks like dos and it updated , in game the pb says that i am authorized and up to date .Your right that i sit there and looked at the maps , but once the pb said i was authorized my pc froze and i left the pc running for hours come back and it was still in the same spot , i have the proper OS for the game .


2-512mb ddr ram @ 400mhz each -AMD Athlon 64 3000+ cpu and gforce nividia 6600 . this pc is 1 month old , i have turned the firewall off , anf the Anti virus . still no go .

If you have any other ideas that would be great because im at a stand still now .

sometimes i even get to the stage where you can pick which group to join , then it freezes up .FREAKY STUFF. maybe its what u said some glitches and it will be fixed soon , lets hope so because this game doesnt look half bad .
