I downloaded the template Order Management Database as it looks like exactly
what i need however i am having major issues trying to personalise this to my
requirements - probably mainly because excel is my strong point. Can anyone
help me out as i am sure teh changes i want are fairly easy to make. I have
gone into the design box and deleted items i dont want to appear and have
tried adding the additional boxes but it keeps crashing so taking it i am
deleting important relevant information

Access isn't Excel. What works in Excel may not in Access.

Do you understand "normalization"? If not, you may have difficulties
understanding the table structure underlying the template. If you don't
understand the data structure, you'll have problems throughout the rest of
the application.

Have you used Access before? Are you comfortable with the basic
tricks/tips? If not, be aware that Access more like a table saw than a
bookcase. You can use it to build things (like bookcases), but you need to
know how.

Do you have a good sense of what works for folks? If your Graphical User
Interface design experience is light, plan to brush up on it. If the
application is 'user-surly', it won't get used.

Have you built an application before? Have you built a house before? Do
you know where to start, how to coordinate the pieces, and how to finish?

I'm afraid using Access is a bit more work than just taking a template and
throwing out what you don't need (and maybe, things you DO need but don't
KNOW!).

Good luck!
