How hot is too hot? I an using a fan-sink rated to XP2000, but I stablize
(CPU temp from Bios) at52C. Seems hot to me. Can't find anything on ADM
site.
In the same case a hot SCSI drive with its own little fan. Should I
worry??

52C is normal for most AMD processors...
IIRC they are typically rated for 70C but i would not advise letting one go
above 60C

if you want more info AMD *does* have all the specs on their website
last time i looked

That 52C temp is fine, but you need consider how much the temp rises
during extended full-load condition. At spec'd/stock speed that CPU
will be more tolerant of heat, should run stable at least up to a
little over 60-65C, but of course many people would prefer replacing
the heatsink for a greater margin of stability if the temp ever
approaches 60C.

Many cheap heatsinks are rated a little too optimistically compared to
the higher-end counterparts, so you need consider the overall
heatsink, seek reviews of particular sinks on the 'net, not just
trusting the manufacturer's rating.
