The two movie clips are worth a watch as this driver does seem to make quite a difference.

ATI, with the help of AMD, have written some graphics drivers that work? ... and for Linux?

Does this mean they sorted the Windows drivers "problems" out, or are they just practicing?

I'll still use a nVidia card with Linux ... ;)

This can only be good news :thumb:

As I don't own any ATI cards I won't have the chance to try these new drivers.

Still, a move in the right direction eh? :)

I've been looking at the Graphics card market and I actually think the time is ripe now to choose an ATI card.

Nvidia may have the top end market cornered but I rarely buy a top end card anyway.

In the mid to high price band, ATI are offering some very good value cards. Add to that their drivers seem to have improved and dozens of Socket 775 boards support Crossfire then they are starting to look appealing.

I'm still a bit wary though, have used Nvidia now since 2002...
