AMD Athlon XP 1600+ frequecncy

Hi,
I bought a mobile computer with a Mobile AMD Athlon XP 1600+ which is
supposed to operae at 1.4Ghz.
But in the system properties, it is said to run at only 654 Mhz.
Anybody knows what's wrong?

I don't know, BUT on my Gateway notebook the processor runs at half
power when on batteries and at full speed when it's plugged in. Check
in your power management to see if there's a way to switch it.

1,4 Ghz = 10,5 * 133,33

Looks like it's running in Power Saving mode.

5 x 133,33 = 666,66 maybe?

Plug it into the mains, see what it says then.

Power Saving mode may also be controlled by software?
