amd 1800+

i have an evesham with an amd 1800+, does anyone no what the highest
processor i could upgrade to without having to change motherboard etc, would
a 2400 be about right

Check your motherboard manuel. It should say what your board can
support.
 
need to know the mobo make & model.

it's most probably in the motherboard manual if u have it.

your exsisting cpu means nothing to the max chip your mobo will take.

HMMM would be an Xp 2600 with 266mhz bus.

Ive got the same board, but settled for Xp 2400, because 2600 266mhz
is VERY VERY hard to get atleast in Australia did not make many :(

2Ghz is another still 2.1ghz would have been nice and i would have
maxed my board out then :)

Oh well.
