All Lightning Deals appear on the "Today's Deals" page. To view this page, click the Today's Deals link above the search bar on any Amazon.co.uk page. A Lightning Deal is a promotion in which a discount is offered on a limited quantity of an item for a limited time. These deals are available on Amazon.co.uk until either the time for that promotion expires or all the available promotional discounts are claimed. A customer can claim a particular deal once only.
When a Lightning Deal is available, here's what you'll see:
To buy an item at the Lightning Deal discount, first you need to claim the deal by adding it to your Shopping Basket. Claiming the deal reserves the item for you for 15 minutes only. You must proceed to checkout and complete your order for the item to purchase the item at the promotional discount.
- The item eligible for the deal and any variations of that item (for example, different colours or sizes)
- The current Amazon.co.uk price, the Lightning Deal price and the Lightning Deal discount
- A progress bar showing what percentage of promotional discounts have already been claimed
- A timer showing how much time is left to claim the available promotional discounts
- An "Add to Basket" button if there are available promotional discounts
If the promotional time for a Lightning Deal hasn't expired yet, but all promotional discounts have been claimed but not purchased, here's what you will see:
- A "Join Waitlist" button
- The status bar will show that 100% of the promotional discounts have been claimed
- A Help link to view "What is a waitlist?"
