is it correct to say that WMM will not produce .wmv files of more than
30 minutes duration.

I cannot find the limit documented
BUT
It will not allow me to go above it.

When you get to the 6 hour point of a project timeline, you'll get a pop-up

I've stopped at a tad over 22 hours, but never got another reminder
