Chuck

Every time I start after 'restart' shutdown, the disk
checker runs, takes about 5 minutes, then hangs up for
another 5-10 minutes. Each time it finds no errors, but
sits with the blue screen until (5-10 minutes) it displays
the password screen. Is there a problem somewhere in the
shutdown process or in the startup process.
Also, entire comuter runs at near zero speed. I've
disabled as many of the running progs in taskmgr as I
can, (where did ALG.exe come from, and why does it load
everytime? Also 4-5 versions<?> of svshost.exe) So, does
anyone know how I find the memory hog?
Thanx in advance for any help.

Chuck

How to view the Chkdsk Log Entry:-
You will find the chkdsk log entry in the Application log of Event Viewer.
To access the Event Viewer
.. Go to Control Panel > Administrative Tools> Event Viewer > Application.
.. Look for the Event from the source "WinLogon".
