I have the same problem as well. I tried the steps
Tools... The report is created, and everything is ready,
but the program is not able to send the report due to a
proxy error. (There is no proxy installed, there are no
settings either).
The Altnet spyware is installed in a registry key under
local machine\software\Altnet.
The problem is that the key and its sub-keys cannot be
deleted. (Permissions) (Permissions cannot be reset
either). (Logged in as Administrator).
I must also note that the Antispyware update feature
always seems to be updating from ver. 5685 to 5691. (It
reports that it is sucessfully updated, but the next time
it runs, it says the same thing. "ver. 5685 to 5691")

I have downloaded and run the Microsoft patches and the
spyware software but when I ask for it to remove the
AltnetBDE it says it does and then if I immediately run
the scan again, there it is! Brilliant Digital is listed
as a trojan and I would love to get rid of it, Help
