alternatives to Sam Spade?

can't get to the site to download Samspade, the Pricelessware selection.

A google search on spade114.exe indicates it is some kind of port sniffing
tool.

What's a good alternative to Samspade?

I've been using Sam Spade for a few years now. It isn't a port sniffer-
it is a network query tool. Meaning it performs a slew of tasks such as
DNS lookups, SMTP relay checks, Grab raw webpages (just the html),
finger, traceroute, ping, and a LOT more...
IMHO it is one of the best :)

I just checked their site [http://www.samspade.org] It seems to be down
at the moment. Give it a day and try again- its worth the wait.

I just did a search and found the following link info for the
SamSpade.org page (which is indeed 404ed right now):

"System outages SamSpade.org has been increasingly unreachable for the
past couple of months. This has been due to several reasons - general
network problems, blackholing of SamSpade.org by several RIRs and
general heavy usage."

This is a serious bummer and I doubt if they'll be back up for quite a
while, if at all.

I was preparing to upload ver.1.14 and archive it at FW4U but the
readme.txt specifies not to redistribute online :(

<q>You may redistribute the installation package (spade114.exe) as long
as you charge no fee for it. You may charge a reasonable fee for media
and distribution costs. You may charge any amount for providing support.

If you're intending to redistribute it online, please don't. Point to the
home site at http://samspade.org/ssw/ instead so people are more likely
to receive a current version.</q>

I have sent an email asking for permission to host a copy.
