Hi, I am doing sorts in a worksheet which has named
ranges. The problem is that rows are always being added
to the worksheet. I insert extra rows into the range but
use them up and have to create a new range. Is there a
better way to do this? Ultimately, I want to hide
everything but the range, copy/insert a row into the
range, then alpha sort it.

Thanks a lot,

Todd

Todd,

Could you create a worksheet for each range?
Then, don't name a range, just sort each by column.

Sounds to simple, I must have misunderstood the question.

Todd,

A Dynamic range has been suggested. Makes a WHOLE lot more sense in Excel
than the term is often used in sound reproduction.

Another possible way is to cheat a little. Have an extra row at the bottom
that you never use. Insert new rows above that row, and a regular plain old
named range will expand as you do so (it must include the extra row). Also,
any formulas with range references, like =SUM(E2:E33), will expand
automatically. You can make the extra row short (as in not tall), and use
some fill color or something like that. You may wish to hide the rows below
it --the sheet will appear to end at the extra row.

Why is the guy in back of me always in such a hurry, and the guy in front
not in much of a hurry?

Thank you all. I have been looking into the dynamic
ranges and trying to mke it work. Its not really cheating
to add rows is it? Its a worthwhile step. Thanks again.
