I had this installed and it does what I want, only makes my pc slowww and
lock's it up.
Has anyone an idea ??

It has to be freeware.. ;-)

I thought the same initially, but then went back to it and now it runs fine.

Did you look at the index update tab in Options? Under 'Background Indexing
and Performance' you can set it to suspend indexing automatically while you
are using the computer, and then to resume indexing after a specified period
of time (default is 30 secs). This stops it from running as soon as you
start using the computer. Also I do not use it to check web content and you
can stop it indexing 'on the fly' if using Windows XP/NT/2000

The initial indexing of your files can take several hours, depending on how
much you have on your HD, so it is best to let it run overnight and then it
is just a question of occasional updating.
