Alternative clipboard manager?

I have been using Yankee Clipper for a long time and I'm happy with it.
However, I was wondering what other freeware clipboard managers exist
that have the features I need in a program of this kind. Specifically,
I'm looking for programs that:

1. Can save several formats (e.g. RTF, etc.) and not just text
2. Allow editing of text items
3. Have an "append" mode or can combine history items
4. Have a preview window that shows the entire item

Any suggestions?

I think you must be misinterpreting Yankee Clipper. YC does more than
merely permit grabbing of text clips. Every time you hit the PrintScrn key,
it also grabs the entire monitor screen, plus it has options to snag just a
piece of any graphic window. It saves these 'grabs' on your computer
hard drive as actual .BMP files or pieces of .TXT. The term 'clipboard'
means just that ... clips. If you are looking for something to save an
entire
window (or whole page? There's a big difference, you know) to .RTF
format, then I think there is no program available to do that. You could
easily 'grab' an entire window (as a .bmp) then import that buffer to any
wordprocessor such as Word or Wordpad that will permit graphics, and
then save it to .RTF. That's a roundabout way, but only one extra step.

I have been using Yankee Clipper III for a long time and it does handle
RTF as well as other formats. (However, I did not specify that I'm
using the III version...the other version is more limited.) I never
said that Yankee Clipper only handles text. I was looking for an
alternative that has the features that I listed. Yankee Clipper
already has those features...I was just wondering if there are other
programs that do the same. I have no interest in grabbing entire
windows, screens, etc. There are specialized programs for that. I'm
only interested in a clipboard manager...

Not a /free/ alternative, but ClipMate has all the aforementioned features
plus a slew of others. I've been using it for years and it manages to
exceed my expectations. Like I said, though, it's not a -free-
alternative. From what I've found, looking around (I hate to have any
thing but the -best- application for the job), Yankee Clipper is the best
free Clipboard utility out there. I'd be interested to hear if you find
otherwise.

I searched for a couple of hours and tried a few other freeware
alternatives. I agree with you...Yankee Clipper is by far the best.
That was the case when I first started using it, a few years ago, but
yesterday I decided to check just in case there was something new and
better.... Thanks!
