Hello,

I have Windows XP Pro as my operating system. I was wondering if
there was a way to boot of a floppy disk and partition/format a hard
drive (NTFS), a program or boot disk that will do it (freeware)? It is
kind of aggrevating to boot off the Windows XP Pro CD and wait for all
the system related drivers to load before doing a partition/formatting
task. Any input would be appreciated.

Thank you!

I don't know about floppies, but if a CD can be useful I recommend looking
into BartPE (http://www.nu2.nu/pebuilder/)

I normally make partition / formatting when windows xp is running.

I use the
Administrative tools,
Computer managment,
Storage
Disk Managment
Rightclick on the area on disk to be partitioned / formatted.

Only when install of the OS on a new harddisk,
I use format using the Windows XP CD.

When I have to resize the partition when Windows XP is running,
I uses the Partition Magic program (buyware) where
I also can make partition / formatting.

That is - I never uses the Windows XP CD to format / partition
except when install of the OS on a new disk.
