Now running under Win2k, I notice that the top-level pull-down menus
(File, Edit, etc.) of my applications no longer have the letter
underlined that indicates that I can hit Alt-letter to pull them down.
I see that if I manually hit Alt by itself, then those letters become
underlined. How can I keep them permanently underlined? Thanks.

You might find it interesting to see what the difference is between
selecting start with the mouse and using the "Natural" keyboard windows
logo.

Or use the "show shortcuts" key (next to right-hand ctrl)

I'm not certain, but I think once you use Alt in a window, the shortcut keys
(underlines) should remain visible until you close it

Interesting. When I click the Start button with the mouse, "Programs",
"Documents", "Settings", and other menu items do NOT have their 'P',
'D' and 'S' underlined. When I press the Windows key, they do.

I'm a keyboard man, and will choose the keyboard over the mouse whenever
I can.

This doesn't seem to be the case, unfortunately. A single mouse click
in that window will turn off display of the shortcut keys.

Goto the Display Properties window (either via Control Panel or right-click
on the desktop | Properties). Select Effects tab. Uncheck "Hide keyboard
navigation indicators until I use the Alt key".

Thanks -- that does it. Good to know that what I've been calling the
"underline letters" are "keyboard navigation indicators"!
