I haven't posted an announcement about the acv photo gallery in a
while. With so many new helpful people here *cough* (we know it's
really All David H. Lipman, All The Time, haha), I thought this would
be a fitting way to end the year.

Official invitation to Robert to join! :-)

Fwiw, I just put a new pic of myself up there. Anyone else wanna
change their photo?

The purpose of the gallery is to show the world (wide web) some
of the faces behind the knowledgable, helpful, witty, smart and
smartass, and yes, even annoying and <cough> troll posters of
the alt.comp.virus newsgroup.*

*and its evil stepsister, alt.comp.anti-virus

The gallery is for regular, semi-regular and alumni posters
from acv.* (Read: Lurkers need not apply.) AV vendors can
submit their photos, too -- if they post here.

I'll include a link to your website or personal home page, but
no e-mail addys, for obvious reasons. ;-) You'll be identified
by your ng nym, or real name -- if you use it.

Is the low picture quality, especially in the first set, due to my own
inferior equipment, or ?

But this is a time for *reflection* and what's age got to do with it,
anyway. Maybe those pictures would look better, if they were.
I just signed up for CopperHighSpeed and that deminishes graphics while
increasing acceleration, hence my concern.
But that didn't seem to make as much of a difference either.
Have the best of New Years ever.

The pictures look fine.
Meaning, the JPEG manifestation of them is fine; of course the origs are
for the most part just so-so quality "snaps" from scans and digicams,
but their web rendition is fine.
If your Copper connection uses something like AOL's .art compression,
there may be a user option to NOT have them rendered as such on their
way down to your browser.

Thanks MM.
Don't think Copper.net uses AOL in any way, shape or form.
There is a slider to increase acceleration, while decreasing image quality,
as the only connection I could find.
I may have to drop this particular service, because there are other
shortcomings involved, making it undesirable for me.

Laura is my daughter's age, give or take a few years, so no, we are not
one and the same.

On a serious note, why would *copper high speed* cause you to get lousy
pictures?? I am assuming that it is cable of DSL. Didn't cause any
problems when I used WinME and none on XP. Perhaps you should phone
them and get it sorted out.

No, it is dial-up and I thought to have explained why:
Increasing accelerated service decreases image quality.
Got it sorted out by now and probably will forget about it.
Nothing to worry over any longer.
New Year's resolution: be nice to your cat! (or is it the dog?)
Now I'm all confused, isn't that the chinese way?

I just cut it last week. (Myself.) All the layers are out. It's blunt
cut, a few inches below my shoulders.

Someone sent me a pic of Lipman a few years ago. Well, they SAID it
was him. But, since it didn't come from David, I didn't post it. If
this is indeed his pic, I can understand WHY. ;-)
