Hi Guys not beeing to bright on the old techno front i have got one of these cases and it looks lovely...now for the build.....i am confronted by loads of small connectors...please could someone decypher them and tell me where they all go???

Thank you

Dave

Those small connecters will be for the front panel ports/Audio/USB etc - they should be clearly marked - they connect to the motherboard header pins.

Have a look at the motherboard manual and it will tell you where on the motherboard they connect :thumb:

connectors

Yes, they are clearly marked...but in computer code...lol...which ones would be for the usb ports, drive bay openenings etc???

Dave

Dave, I have moved your query here into its own thread to keep the review section tidy :thumb:

Those connectors will have writing on such as 'pwr' and 'led' etc. - if you look in your motherboard manual it will show you where they go on the board.

Does the case not come with a manual as well?

Here are some examples for an Asus P5B-E Plus motherboard:

I am using a gigabyte GA-K8U-939 motherboard.........

the connectors i am having difficulty identifying are 2 sets of D+ D- GND VCC...are these the 2 front USB ports???

1 set TPA+ TPA- TPB+ TPB- VCC GND

1 set L-OUT R-OUT L RET

One other piece of advice please...how much thermal paste to put on heatsink??

Sorry about lack of knowledge...

Dave

OK, if you can not find the manual for your MB you can download it from Here it will reveal all, especially on pages 17, 22, 23 & 25

If you still get stuck, call us back and we'll try & help further. :thumb:

Yes, i have the motherboard manual...but it makes no reference to the connectors i am having trouble identyfying...unless they mean something else...any help would be appreciated!!!

Thank you

Dave

Yes, the 2 sets of D+ D- GND VCC are indeed USB ... if I have the same manual as you then look on page 25.

TPA+ TPA- TPB+ TPB- VCC GND are your Mic and L-OUT R-OUT L RET is the speaker or headset, page 23.

Be aware ...
If you want to use Front Audio connector, you must remove 5-6, 9-10 Jumper. In order to utilize the front audio header, your chassis must have front audio connector. Also please make sure the pin assignments for the cable are the same as the pin assignments for the front audio header.
To be honest with you, I wouldn't bother ... it's your MB. ;)

1 set TPA+ TPA- TPB+ TPB- VCC GND - This is for firewire - you don't have it on your motherboard so forget them.

1 set L-OUT R-OUT L RET - This is your front audio connectors - see page 23 of the online manual.
Mucks link to the online manual is slightly wrong - try HERE :thumb:

Thermal paste application instructions - Arctic Silver (applies to other pastes too)

VCC is the 'USB Power' connector - have a look here about half way down for an example :thumb:
