Alphabetizing the Rules

Can anyone tell me how to alphabetize the all the rules that are
listed in my Rules?

You can't. Well, ok, more strictly speaking, you *shouldn't*, but you could
always do it manually.

For a good reason.

Rules are run from the first in the list to the bottom of the list. If you
were to put them in alphabetical order, you'd change the order of the rules.

If you can't figure out why that's a big deal, consider the following
scenario.

You have a large number of rules set to deal with subject lines, moving
things from your inbox to folders.
You want to see messages from your boss in your inbox, regardless of the
subject, since he's the one that signs your checks.

So, the first rule on the list basically says:
Check messages on arrival
From My Boss
Stop Processing More Rules

That way, even if your boss sends a message that matches other rules, it
won't be moved. I'm sure I could come up with better examples, but, I'll
leave that to you.
