I use shortcut menus extensively in my database. For
some reason (I am sure that makes sense only to
Microsoft), the customization list of shortcut menus is
NOT in alphabetical order. As far as I can tell, it's
not in ANY order at all.
This makes it very difficult to work with as I have to
search the LONG list every time I want to find a menu and
work with it.
#1 - Does anyone know why MS has chosen NOT to
alphabetize this list?
#2 - Is there any way to force it into alphabetical
order? From what I can see, there isn't.
#3 - Are there any nifty aftermarket programs that make
working with shortcut menus easier?
Sometimes MS does things that just make me scratch my
head. You would think with MS's thousands of Phd's,
someone would have thought, hey, maybe we should put
these menus is some kind of rational order our users
could work with?
Has anyone besides me noticed that some of the BEST
functionality in MS is actually just taking advantage of
quirks and bugs in the system and was never actually hard
programmed in?
Any example of this would be creating useable drop-down
list of choices within a word document by using a weird
combination of auto-text and styles. If anyone knows
what I am talking about, it is the most convoluted back-
asswards way of doing the simplest thing most any user
would need I have ever seen.
Anyway, just a rant after years of frustration with a
product that keeps improving things I never use and
ignores things I need to use every day.
