alphabetical order

Hi everybody,
I turned on my computer a couple of days ago and all of a
sudden when I hit "Open" the files shown are not sorted by
alpahbetical order, but by date.

I tried all the obvious solutions, but it seems to be a
recorded setting. Somewhere.

Any clues?

Just click the title bar for that column (Name) twice for toggling ascending or descending.
