Alpha Sort in Favorites Bar

When adding a folder or link in the favorites bar, it doesn't alpha sort.
The last link or folder added goes to the bottom of the page. Any advise is
appreciated.

FYI: I'm an older person and not very computer literate. Thanks for any
help. AnnO
 
You have to reset the sort order when you add a folder. Click on Favorites
(the word, not the icon). Right click on the drop-down box and click: Sort
By.

Bruce - I have tried repeatedly to get my favorites to sort as you say, but
it just doesn't offer me the option of "Sort by". I'm running ie 6.0 sp 2 on
an XP machine, and it doesn't matter where I click, right or left, the sort
option is just not there. Is it possible that this is a glitch in sp2?
 
No, SP2 is the same. Perhaps you are trying in the wrong place?

Use the menu option Favorites and when a favorite flies out,
rightclick on it and select "Sort by name"
Don't use the Favorites panel. It must be the menu option or you may
also do it from Start-Favorites
