Hello,

I have a document that has multiple sections. Some
sections are protected and others are not. The document
will be used to allow edits mainly to insert a new page.

I have a form that I would like to appear at the top of
each new page that is created. The user can copy and paste
this form at the top of each new page, however if I
unprotect the form elements in this section it no longer
acts as a form.

Is there any way to get around this?

Or, is there a way to use a button that would automaticaly
insert a new page with the protected form at the top?

Thanks
Bob

Hi Bob,

I'm not exactly sure how you have things set up, but yes,
I'd
say a macro would be the way to go. Generally, for
something
like this, I like to save the "repeat" part as an AutoText
entry.

If the "form" for the top of each page should repeat
information the user has already typed into form fields,
I'd
substitute REF fields (cross-references) to the form fields
so that the information will be duplicated. Include the
section break for the protection in the AutoText entry.

The macro can:
- create the new page
- insert the AutoText entry
- update the fields (if you've use REF fields)
- protect the section
