Is there a way for me to modify the allowed applications?
For example: I don't want RealPlayer to install itself in
my start-up. Howerver, AntiSpyware allows real to do
this. It also allows Quicktime. I want full control as
to what gets added or not.

Can I modify the allowed apps or can I just have it ask
me for every instance of this action?

Thanks.

Neither, I'm afraid. Microsoft Antispyware can't be used to block apps of
your choice, just ones that fit the criteria that Microsoft has established
for it.

Usually such apps have some kind of settings and/or options concerning
loading them when the user logs on. So you can search the options of
unwanted apps to disable the load at startup option or use for example
msconfig.exe to prevent them from loading.
