Allow users to install a camera.

I'm using W2K Professional workstations and would like to
give my users access to install digital cameras so they
can download pictures, but when the user attaches the
camera it tells them they do not have "sufficient
privileges to install hardware". How do I work around
this without giving the users administrator priviledges?

In Local Security policy /security settings/local policies/user rights
assignments there is a user right for load and unload device drivers. You
might try to add your users to that user right and rebooting the machine and
trying again. I am not sure if it will help, but worth a try. Keep in mind
malicious users can exploit that user right but it is better than making
them an administrator. --- Steve

The "load/unload drivers" assignment will not work. I've
tried this already, along with a few other things, to no
avail.

I also tried installing the camera, capturing registry and
file changes made (RegMon and FileMon), and granting Full
Control to Everyone on these.

Even with these changes, I still get the insufficient
rights error when trying to detect the camera as a User.

Any other suggestions? Thanks...
