hello all
does anyone know how to change the COM port settings so that the ports are 'enabled' for users other than just the administrator?
many thanks!

I saw this same post in at least one other group. Where do you expect
to see replies? Here? There?

Please crosspost next time so that the discussion, if any, stays
together in one place.

sorry, first time trying to do this. if you could tell me how i might crosspost, that would be helpful. and in answer to your question, i'd be happy to see replies in either place.
thanks

It may depend on the software you're using to post.

You crosspost by specifying multiple newsgroups in a single message,
as opposed to what you did which was post the message individually to
multiple groups, one at a time.

This is a system wide setting, the ports cannot be selectively enabled
they are either Enabled or Disabled. This is probably a Group Policy
restriction on removable devices.
