I am a system admin & would like to allow users to use ipconfig
/release & ipconfig /renew to work w/ our DHCP server in a pinch, even
though all users are Limited Users by default. Is this something I can
do through Group Policy?

There is nothing in Group Policy per se but you could add the user or group
he is a member of to the network configuration operators group on their
workstation. Keep in mind however that will allow them to do most any
network configuration. See the link below for more details. --- Steve

Thanks for the info. In other words, my only recourse for users is to
have them unplug/replug their network cable (generally a bad idea) or
restart their PC.

Pretty much if you don't want them to be in the network configuration
operators group. --- Steve
