can anyone tell me if i can allocate specific time slots to specific users. i
have a large family and a rota type systen would be an advantage where a user
can only log in during the allocated time!
This would save many a row for me!

TEN people, all using ONE computer in a HOME?

Loony!

Buy at least one other computer.

There is a very cheap alternate do D. Spencer Hines advice.

Check out Access Boss software ... it is perfect for what you want, totally
configurable with many options.
Can be configured based on time-of-day, day-of-week as well as time access
time. Notifies user's prior to auto-logout (if configured). Has many more
options - GUI interface easy to use. CHEAP!!!!

Yeah, I found that when I rebuilt my cousins system and upgraded to Windows
XP Pro.
She has 3 chikdren and she wanted to allocate time for them during the week
after school that won't interfere when they are to be doing homework, as
well as different setups for the weekend.

It took me a while to reverse engineer Access Boss ... it operates on the
Winlogon process ... so if you ever are trying to locate the Startup entry
in the Startup folders, Run registry keys ... you won't find it.

All the operations are performed under the following registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows
NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\Notify

So if you have and Spyware apps or Virus Scan applications that complain
about something modifying that registry key (at the time of install), it's
Access Boss.

That's nothing to do with what was asked. Learn how to read and to stay on
topic.
