If you need more help, please post back with more details such as the
name of the antivirus, how you "deleted" it, the exact location of the
files, and the exact text of any error messages you receive when trying
to delete the files.
Malke
Malke, thanks for the response. I was unable to take ownership of the
files. The security tab did not show up on any of the files in the
Database folder. The other folder, ClientSD, is empty but still will
not allow access. The message I get with the files and folder is
"Access is denied. Make sure that the disk is not full or write-
protected and that the file is not currently in use." Both folders
are in the Program Files folder under a Windows Live One Care folder.
I have Windows Live OneCare. I tried to uninstall it but the
uninstall would always become non-responsive. That's when I started
deleting files on my own. I can't remember why I chose to delete the
program. Ah, the firewall in OneCare was turned off and I could not
turn it back on. Attempting to turn on the firewall also became non-
responsive.
I can boot to a command prompt but it's in the safe mode within
Windows, which appears to allocate the folders. When I boot from a
emergency disk, I go to an A: prompt. I attempt to change to the C:
prompt and I get "Invalid drive specification." I think that if I
could get to the folders outside of Windows, I might be able to delete
them. So, my question is how do I get to the C: drive from the
emergency disk?
Again, thanks for the response.
