This is driving me CRAZY! I only want one profile on this
machine... I can't stand not being able to delete a
folder because some "other person or program is using it"!!

How can I have just one profile on XP? ANd if "Linda" is
listed as the only log-on option (except the
disabled "guest"), and shpwn as "administrator".... why
can't I kill my own stuff??

Help, please!

To get rid of extra profiles, install a different operating system.
Seriously. WinXP is designed for a multi-user environment. These multiple
profiles are a part of how it works. Among other things, necessary parts of
the registry are stored under each profile.

You do have an extra account in there though. All Users is the original
account. All Users.(machine name) was created during a reinstall. Check the
Created Date for the folders. Most likely All Users.(machine name) has a
more recent date and it is the folder that is currently in use for the All
Users account.
