All the columns in Excel will not show in PowerPoint

Recently upgraded to w2000 with PP2000.

When I try to insert and Excel spreadsheet as an object in
a slide..it will only show 8 columns, where the
spreadsheet has 12. I have double clicked the object and
dragged the viewing window to show all the columns, but
when I save and close..only the 8 columns remain...and now
the cells are distended.
Any suggestions?
