When you open the all programs command in the start menu and the programs come up, do you notice the little black arrows beside the names? These arrows tell you that there is a submenu that contains the actual program and its other files and information. The arrows were put there to aid in navigating and take up less space on your desktop. There is a way, but it is not recommended. The more junk you have on your desktop, the more memory is required from your video card to show everything. This can drasticly slow your machine down and possibly cause video errors. All you really need to do is to just roll your mouse over the program you want to run and the submenu will open if an arrow is present so that you can choose the proper application. The menu will automatically grow as you load more applications onto your drive.
