I was adding a shortcut to the all programmes and may have accidentally
dragged. I now have each column twice as wide as it was or ought to be.
So where in the registry is the key that set's this width and what
should it be

The width of the columns is determined by the longest name in them. R-click
the longest and name it something shorter or, delete unnecessary words from
the current name.

Thanks for the reply JAX.
This had lots of empty space after the longest name. Any how I did a
restore and fixed it that way. But there must be a way.
