I hope this is the proper forum for this question. I have
a co-worker running XP who cannot get any program, control
panel or even system restore to launch. Most error
messages say the executable does not have a file
associated with it, which they do. He knows he had a
trojan & browser hijacker on his system that we were
trying to remove. Even the AVG free edition executable I
downloaded failed to launch. However, when I right-clicked
and clicked on Run As.., & deselected the security feature
to prevent unauthorized programs from launching, that
executable launched fine.
I am not as familiar with XP as I am 2000, so is there a
security setting somehwere that is preventing these files
from launching?
Thanks!
