In the history tab of my internet explorer it shows all of the files I have
opened that are on my hard drive. Word document files, jpgs, and real media
that I have opened all appear in the history list on IE6. I have searched for
days and have not found anything related to this. Any help would be
appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Zack,

Its always been like that. On the History side bar click the view button and
select "By Date" and you will see that your local files recently opened will
appear grouped under "Today>My Computer". This a handy feature as it allows
you to not only open recent internet shortcuts but also local files that you
have recently visited from IE6, Windows Explorer or from the Start>Program
Files menu.

I don't know if you have tried IE7, but it behaves differently and only
displays internet shortcuts in the History list.

Not to be confused with the Internet Explorer (v6 or v7) but there is also a
History side bar for the Windows Explorer (which you would usually use to
navigate and find files on your local disk)

Regards.
