I've been using Office/Outlook 2003 for 2 or more years. I have a
problem I've never seen and can't find a fix.
I had my settings configured to consider an email 'read' after it had
been viewed in the reading pane for 5 seconds. It's been set like that
for a long time.
Recently, I started using the auto preview option, and decided I could
lower that time from 5 seconds to 3 seconds to consider an item 'read'.
After a few days I went back to normal viewing instead of using auto
preview. Sometime after that I noticed all of my emails were in bold
print (the way they look when they haven't been read).
This is happening in all of my folders; sometimes the number of unread
items shown in () beside the folder is probably a correct number. But my
inbox shows that all msgs are unread.
FYI, my Junk Email folder has never taken an item out of bold print
after I've read it. Junk email folder always shows the total number of
msgs in (xx) as unread. It's kind of a nuisance but wasn't a big deal
with junk email folder.
But now I'm going nuts trying to keep track of what I've read and not
read, and the problem just grows as more email comes in.
Any ideas/fixes would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Cathy
