All memory ECC or None ECC ?

Does all memory in a system have to be ECC or Non-ECC? Is that correct or
can not mix and match?

Correct. You don't want to mix and match.
Assuming that they did cooperate together, ECC would need to be disabled
anyway since it's an all-or-nothing thing.

Nowadays motherboards will only work with non ECC RAM (DDR). There is a key
in RAM (DDR) slot and EEC will not fit. Only high end server motherboards
use EEC and they cannot use non-EEC.

Not quite. My board (GA-7DXR+) will accept (and utilize) ECC memory,
or non-ECC memory. Same slot, either type can be used.

In fact, you should be able to use ECC memory in any non-ECC board, but
it will just ignore the extra ECC bits. That'd be somewhat pointless,
though, as ECC RAM is significantly more expensive.

I use ECC DDR in my 3 systems here with no problems. There isn't any *key*.

Only use ECC if you plan on using it in all slots. I got mine pretty cheap
from Tiger direct.
