Hi - I gotta believe this is an easy fix for someone who knows what they are doing...

I'm using Outlook 2002 and every time I go to retrieve my emails, they all load in at that particular date and time, rather than the correct time that the email was created. It's starting to drive me bonkers. I've had Outlook for several months, but this didn't start happening until last week.

I'm thinking this should be an easy fix of just changing a setting somewhere, but I've struggled to find the answer. Any help would be much appreciated.

What sort of mail account do you have? The time displayed in Outlook's
default view is the "Received" time, which is supposed to be stamped on the
message by the server when it receives the message. Perhaps the server has
stopped doing so, in which case I'd imagine that Outlook would set it to the
time that it downloaded the message.

Hi Jeff - you are correct

that is what is happening - the time that I make the batch download of the day's emails is stamped as the "received" time

In terms of your question of what type of email - I think I'm answering correctly in saying it is a POP account through comcast broadband. In other words, it's not a freebie through yahoo or anyone like that, nor is it an AOL account. I hope this info is helpful. Any suggestions on how to proceed would be great

Try opening one of these messages and selecting View -> Options on its menu
bar. You'll get a pop-up dialog with a text box near that bottom that lists
all the Internet headers of the message. Look through this to see if there
are any lines beginning with "Received:" - these are what Outlook will look
at to determine the date/time on which the message was received. If there
are none, then something's wrong with the way Comcast is handling messages.
If there are "Received:" lines, could you copy all of them and post them in
a follow-up to this? It may be that they're not formatted properly and
Outlook can't read them.
