MARK MATTSON

Hi....

Am using the above mentioned AIW in my Windows XP box (homebrew clone).
All is working great, except for the TV OUT function. When I go in to
activate the function, the control is greyed out, and marked as Not
Connected.

I have been through the whole route (removing the drivers, using the
default XP drivers, installing the newest release drivers (6.13.3270, from
the ATI site), checking and following all reccomnmendations from ATI
bulletins)...all have had no effect. Even running their suggested loopback
test produces no happiness....it still says Not Connected.

The system is running (as mentioned) Win XP Pro / SP1, with an AMD Athlon
1.33 GHz, 1 Gb RAM, and gobs of HD space. The Composite IN feature is
operable, as I can capture video from an attached VR, so I know at least
that section is working. The XP installation has all available updates
installed, with the exception of DirectX, which I just reverted back to
v8.1b.

Has anyone had success in getting the TV OUT function to work under XP. or
am I looking at an upgrade of this card?

Thanks!!

Regards,

Mark

Is the TV output cable connected?
I believe that connector (from the ATI card) needs to have a load (usually
the TV or VCR input) connected to it before the software enables or allows
changes to it.

Hope that helps.
Good luck.

Yes. Everything is hooked up and ready to go, and switched on. It even
will not enable when doing a loopback test, i.e., hooking the TV OUT to the
composite in jack.

My only other suggestion (which I suspect will not work, but I would try) is
to put a 75 ohm load (usually the TV or VCR does this) on the composite
output. You may have one of those balun thingys.

If that does not work, I'd (ATI software is sometimes strange) re-install
the software (not a happy thing sometimes).

Can't think of too much else.
