I hope someone can help

I have a AIW Radien
Capturing works fine Win 98se
installing the drivers the correct way suggested
(removing all ati drivers, folders, refs etc)

BUT try as I might NO WAY will it install in XP

First off which drivers should I use to start with
because XP goes and loads without prompting
what it thinks I need
But capture does not work

Are you using a Via KT133 motherboard?

There's a problem with that card and the Via chipset...

Yes I have the Abit KT7A
Which uses VIA KT133
Does this mean I have to buy a new motherboard or is there a patch

I have used a Radeon DDR 64Meg VIVO on a KT7A and that worked fine in
XP with no 4in1 drivers needed either. I used Catalyst 2.3 IIRC
because any later than that seemed to crash the system if you tried to
run a 3d game (although the new 3.7s seem to work fine on my AT7..)

not sure what to tell you - i have the same motherboard, same video card
(AIW Radeon w/ 32MB) in XP professional and it's always worked great. my
bios is old as hell, too... maybe you just need to totally clean out your
drivers/registry and re-install it. there is a webpage somewhere with
detailed instructions on how to remove ATI stuff completely.

That's why I went back to Win98SE. Not to mention some people think
all you want is to capture a commercial or a small music video....

In my case I like to backup my VHS tapes here and there to CDR.

Sorry the MMC cant handle the amount of time need to run the capture
with any real quality.

The web would be a faster place without Spam !
